Saint-Gaudens (1848–1907) was an Irish American sculptor of the Beaux-Arts generation, many prominent museums hold his work. The $20 gold coin he created for the US Mint, 1905–1907, though adapted for minting, is still considered the most beautiful American coin ever issued.
