Hans Hofmann had a his own school in Provincetown, Massachusetts in the 40s and 50s. Many famous or notable artists studied with him: Lee Krasner, Helen Frankenthaler, Joan Mitchell, Michael Goldberg, Ray Eames, Larry Rivers, Robert de Niro, Sr., Red Grooms and Wolf Kahn.
